Hayden launches herself over the jump. Hayden & Annie have transferred to our Lake Forest classes from our Fountain Valley location, since it is much closer to home. Hayden is very fast, so we always appreciate action shots of her that are not blurred.

Maya, left, & Sianna, right, work on their weave poles. Maya & Sianna have always been quick studies in agility.

Stella the Schnauzer catches a breather in between course runs and hangs with her peeps, Elaine & Dennis.

Elaine shows off her fine handling form while Stella completes the A-Frame. Both Elaine and Dennis like to run Stella on the agility courses.

Molé & Karen practice the Dogwalk. The first week in beginning class, Molé wasn't sure about agility. But it didn't take long for his agility skills to begin to blossom. And best of all, his tail now stands high in the air during class.

This detail of a larger photo by Jonel Roberto shows off the sheer determination that Kona approaches  most all agility obstacles. Both Mary Anne & Fulbert like to run the courses with Kona on Saturdays, and they are getting very close to catching up with Kona.

Allison keeps Sparky on a stay at the pause table. Sparky is in our Beginning Agility Class, and has been improving dramatically with each class. Allison and her husband Bob, rescued Sparky along with Sparky's siblings Mini Me and Sunshine.

Sultan hangs out at his version of the water cooler to catch up on all the doggie gossip.

Bailey & Jill, longtime students of ours in Fountain Valley, come to Lake Forest to do some agility on grass. If we had to use just one word to define Bailey & Jill in our agility and rally-o classes, it would be "graceful", which makes them so fun to watch.

Everybody likes Charlie. Even if you are not a small dog aficionado, you just can't help but like Charlie, not to mention his handler Lisa. What a sight it is to see a dog of Charlie's stature tackling the large contact equipment like the A-Frame and Dogwalk.

Mr. Brown tries his hand, or should we say 'paw', at the A-Frame.

After attending classes at the former Mission Viejo location and then in Fountain Valley, Deacon & Bandit have brought their style of pairs agility to their hometown of Lake Forest.

Pic by Roger & Lisa Williams

What's this? They switched sides on the A-Frame? Anyone who has watched Bandit & Deacon at work knows that this agility pair will never cease to suprise.

One can tell simply by Toni's body language that Red just aced the Weave Poles.

Red completes the double jump with ease. Red, Toni & Sam are currently in the Lake Forest Advanced-Intermediate class.

Red races across the Dogwalk.

You can tell by both Chelsea and Sherry's hair that this was a very windy Graduation Day. Chelsea & Sherry are now attending classes in Lake Forest instead of Fountain Valley because they both prefer to do their agility on grass. They drive all the way from Huntington Beach, and Chelsea always brings her new friend, Mona the Dachshund.

Kona begins his descent on the A-Frame. As you can tell by his harness, Kona is no bandwagoner. He is a hardcore Lakers fan.

Indy completes the tunnel and looks for his handler, Robin. Just by looking at Indy in this picture, you can clearly see the enthusiasm he brings to agility courses.

Casey and her handler Cindy, are in our Fountain Valley Advanced-Intermediate class. But Cindy brings Casey to Lake Forest in order to get Casey used to agility on grass before entering agility trials.

Red Through the Eye of the Tire
Red the Cattle Dog enthusiastically completes the tunnel and looks for Toni, his handler, to guide him to the next obstacle.  Red is not only incredibly talented at agility, but Toni and Sam also take Red to Splash Dog events. We have seen pictures of Red in action, and it looks really fun.

Textbook Teeter Training
Hayden the Labrador Retriever & Annie demonstrate proper techniques for the Teeter- Totter once the dog has become accustomed to and comfortable with it. In the first pic, Annie sends Hayden onto the Teeter. She then catches up with Hayden in the second pic, to make sure that Hayden slows down at the tipping point. In the third pic, Annie keeps Hayden straight on the Teeter, making sure that hayden neither leaves the plank too soon nor skips past the yellow contact area. Bravo!!!

The Lake Forest Spring 2011
 Intermediate Agility Class
You can tell by most everyone who was hatless that this photo was taken on a very windy day. But that didn't stop these agility troopers from doing what they do on Saturday mornings - hitting the agility course. From left to right: Deacon the Jack Russell & Roger, Kevin, Molé the Labrador Retriever & Karen, Bandit the Jack Russell & Lisa, Gracie the Labrador Retriever & Shelley, Chelsea the Shih Tzu & Sherry, Stella the Schnauzer & Elaine & Dennis, and Erin.

Kona the Mighty Dachshund
One might snicker at our reference to a small dog as being mighty. But this is a dog that was originally bred to flush out badgers and other burrow dwelling animals. The Dachshund originated in Germany, and its name literally means Badger Dog (dachs is German for badger, while hund means dog). Any dog that is willing to take on a badger is a pooch with no shortage of bravery. It's no wonder that Kona has always been comfortable going through the tunnel and chute. Kona runs agility courses on Saturdays with both of his handlers, Mary Anne & Fulbert. Don't let Kona's little legs fool you, he can be really speedy on the agility course.

The Lake Forest Spring 2011
 Beginning Agility Class

Springtime at Pittsford Park in Lake Forest brought us a small and intimate beginning class that really was alot of fun for us. The students from left to right: Keith & Sultan (top of the table), Jonesy & Melora, and Kona, Mary Anne & Fulbert. All successfully ran the Pillow Dash course at graduation, which is no small feat.

Here Comes Jonesy!
It's tunnel time for Jonesy and his handler Melora, who are currently in our Beginning Agility Class in Lake Forest. Jonesy has become our "go to" dog in the class. In other words, when we are showing the class how to do something for the first time, we have Jonesy & Melora go first. Melora and her hubby, Cal, rescued Jonesy along with Jonsey's two other siblings, Abby and Lucy. All are exemplary examples that rescues make great pals.

Graduation Day for our first Beginning Agility Class at Pittsford Park. From left to right are the agility duos of Sherry & Brown, Maya & Sianna and Charlie & Lisa. Absent from the photo are Benji & Dave because despite Benji's objections, Dave and Steph had to go to a wedding.
